A Little About Me
Hi! I'm Genna! For my whole life, I've been in love with the arts. During my free time, I love to doodle cartoons, play my bass guitar and listen to some of my favorite music. I'm an extroverted-introvert and am often quite and afraid to say my thoughts in class. This year, I hope to work on that and become more assertive and share some more of my ideas in class. I also hope to be more active and get out of the house, especially considering that I'm spending most of my time online for class and homework during the pandemic.

My Theatre and Art Background
Like I said above, I love the arts. I don't consider myself to be the best artist, but that doesn't change the fact that I still love to draw and create silly pictures. Sometimes when I'm not in a good mood or if I'm bored, I'll draw one of my goofy cartoons to make me smile. I also like the idea of working as an animator when I'm an adult because I love to make people smile and I think that some of my drawings have that ability and I enjoy animated movies. Music is also a very important part of my life. When ever I feel upset or stressed, music is usually the first "relief" I go to. I mostly listen and play music that my parents listen to (70s, 80s, 90s rock, funk and ska music). To tie into my love for music and the arts, I've been doing musical theatre ever since I was 7. Over the course of the years, however, I've discovered and enjoy plays at my school and have also found a love for working backstage instead of acting onstage. The characters that I usually prefer to play are comedic character parts like Scuttle in the Little Mermaid for example. Just like when I draw, theatre is a way to help make people smile and enjoy themselves. I think that's one of the biggest reasons why I like playing goofy characters. It's not because I like to get a laugh or an applause for myself, it's because I want the laugh to be for the audience and it's my indication that they're going to have a good night watching the show.
